SO MANY "GOD" & "GODDESSES", SUCH VASTNESS------ "HINDUISM"

The word "Hindu" comes from the word "Sindhu". Sindhu is a river. Thr civilization that was born on the banks of this river was called the Sindhu civilization. When the Persians came they could not pronounce "Sindhu", so they called it 'Indu". Over a period ot time, it became "Hindu".
Hindu is a geographical identity and to some extent a cultural identity. It is not a religious identity; Hindu was never an "ism". It is only when hugely aggressive, competitive religious came, the Hindus tried to organise themselves as a religion, but even now they are not successful -- because there is no one belief system. This culture, over a period of time, focused its whole attention on the ultimate development and wellbeing of the human being. 
These days we are forgotten this, but generally it is said that for a Hindu there is only one goal in life: Mukti. Mukti means liberation. For a Hindu, his business, his career & his family are all secondary things - they are only stepping stones towards his Ultimate liberation. Generally in every religion, God is the ultimate goal. But this is a culture where we do not see God as the ultimate thing because we understand that we created him.

Suffering, Suppression, Karma, Destiny????

I love this story of  our great Indian mystic Sri Ramkrishna Paramhans that is mentioned by Yogi, Mystic and Visionary Sadguru in a Yogi's guide is :- on a certain evening, two friends were walking together to visit prostitute. While they were walking, they heard a voice delivering a discourse on the Bhagavad Gita. One friend decided to attend the lecture as he seized by guilt but the other man left him there and went ahead. Now the man sitting in the lecture found his thoughts were full of his friend who is with the prostitute and he began to envy him. "RADHA - KRISHNA & Our History

Our history is ancient. The 4000- year- old Vedas do not mention Radha & Krishna. The Upanishads mention Krishna & Devaki but whether these are the same figures as in the story we know, we can't say. Krishna is first mentioned in the Mahabharata, the 2000- year- old mahakavya. Here we hear about Krishna and his relationship with the Kuru clan. There is no description of him as a cowherd. Written as many as 1600 years ago, a poem, a mahakavya, called Harivansh first mention Krishna's childhood as a cowherd. In the Mahabharata Krishna as Gopala is mentioned only in the defeat of Shishupala. In the Bhagavata Purana of the tenth century , Krishna sings and dances with the Gopis.
