MANAGEMENT OF LIFE....
The Bhagwadgita Chapter 13, verse 27 & 28 makes an unambiguous statement about the equality of all beings, and adds further that God resides in every human being without exception. In other words all of us are His manifestation and He treats everyone equal.
"Saman Sarveshu Bhuteshu
Tishtantam Parmeshwaram
Vinashyatshu Avinashyantam
Ya Pashyati Sa Pashyati"
One who looks upon God as an immortal entity, residing equally even amongst all mortal beings possesses correct understanding.
"Saman Pashyan Hi Sarvarta
Samvasthitam Ishwsram
Na Hinasti Atmana Atmanam
Tata Yati Param Gatim"
One who believes God to be present everywhere and in every being, never degrades himself. He is in a position to reach his ultimate destination very easily.
"Ya Mam Pashyati Sarvartra
Sarvam Cha Mayi Paashayati
Tasayaham Na Pranashayami
Sa Cha Me Na Pranashayati"
Whoever sees me everywhere and everyone in me in equal measure, not only is very dear to me, but remains unvanquished forever.
If you wish to understand a person's worth as a good human being, observe the way he treats or interacts with people who are socially & economically inferior to him. A truly good human being will not be rude to them and keep his relationship with everyone on an even keel and treat everybody the same way.
One of the famous quotes in the Ishavasya Upanishad says:
"Ishavasyam Idam Sarvam
Yat Kinch Jagatyam Jagat
Ten Tyaqten Bhunjitha
Ma Gridh Kasya Swidhanam"
This world created and owned by God has enough to take care of everyone's needs. Do not show greed, be content in whatever you receive and do not eye others share or possessions.
At any given point of time in our life, we measure the extent of our happiness on the basis of desires that have been fulfilled. We always carry several desires in our bosom. Evidently, all of them can never be fulfilled; indeed they are not likely to be.
We must realise that the world is not our personal fiefdom and everything will not happen according to our wishes. This world comprises different people and situations, with varying aspirations and mindset which may not coincide with our perspective. In any case, the reasons for non- fulfillment of desires or disagreement may be many and if properly rationalized, need not result in anger which only makes the situation worse.
Chapter 2, verses 62 & 63
"Dhyayato Vishyanpumsa
Sangasreshu Pajayate
Sangat Sanjayate Kama
Kama Krodho Abhijayate"
Constant contemplation of the objects of desire creates an attachment for that objects. Attachment leads to desire for acquiring that object. An impediment in that desire generates anger.
"Krodhadbhavati Sammoha
Sammohat Smriti Vibhrama
Smriti Bhramsad Buddhinasho
Buddhinashat Pranashayati"
Anger gives rise to lack of discrimination, leading to loss of memory. Loss of memory which is an essential attribute of our intellect, results in its destruction. Loss of intellect signifies the end of that person.
Greed is a disease and uncontrolled greed is an incurable and a chronic condition. Most of us often possess more than what we actually need. The problem about greed is that it is not need - based. It ptopels a person to go for anything and everything without an honest assessment of his or her genuine needs. Another interesting feature of the emotion called greed is that it is usually unstoppable. The person overcome with grees does not realize where to begin and where to stop. A person given to excessive greed is indeed an insecure person.
"Yadricha Labh Santushto
Dwandateet Vimatsaro
Sidh Asidh Samobhutva
Kritvapi Na Nibadhayaye"
The one who has no desires and is content in whatever he receives on its own, has completely abondoned any feelings of jealousy, transcends the duality of happiness and sorrow. He remains indifferent to the success or failure and remains absolutely free of any bonds, while performing his duties.
Amongst several negative emotions affecting the mortal beings, jealousy is the most useless and an eminently avoidable occupation. It makes you helpless, weak & imbecile. One way to avoid feeling wretched on account of this syndrome is to make an honest assessment of your belongings and to cast a glance on those which posses much less than you. In a relative sense, it should actually Inspire you to engage in a healthy competition to seek excellence.
